Today we produce almost a million plastic products a minute; as society consumes an appetite of convenience and wastefulness. This new year, party goers will trash the shoreline in Sydney, leaving behind a mess of; plastic, glass, and absolute rubbish. These people show little regard for the environment and have little responsibility to clean up after themselves. In Australia, we have a saying 'that you should only leave footprints when you go somewhere'. But this message is old and half of the world does not know what we actually mean.
Take 3; is a simple program that educates the next generation about the impact plastic is having on our global ocean. Teaching the young, that 'it is not ok to litter'. It also teaches them that the expectations they have, are the expectations they walk past every day. Rotting plastic is not ok, so they are taught to take action. If they see plastic rubbish, take it, and bin it. The challenge is to leave places cleaner than they found them. Challange yourself to take 3 pieces of rubbish every time you go somewhere. It will make a diffrence.
