Today I noticed that the kite I photographed was very different than the ones I had seen in the desert regions. At first, I thought it was a lesser kite.
Either way, it is now believed to be a sea kite. This particular hawk has a thin tail, has a very detailed spotty texture to it's under feathers, and can be seen taking fish right from the surface of the water.
In many ways, it shares a lot of common features with a whistling kite.
