At Home

The most memorable thing about living in Alice Springs so far is the neverending clear skies, and the coloured skies when clouds appear.

The vivid colours are allways due to the dust required for the clouds to coalesce upon. As a result, the skies light up in deep reds, pinks, and bright oranges as far as you can see.

I wake up every morning with the window of my room drawn open to watch the sun come up, as I prepare my lessons to teach for the day. Sometimes it makes it a bit hard to focus as outside is allways very intense as light breaks through from the night, and you never know what to expect. If it's an exceptional experience I will often get out a canon camera and attach a wide angle lens, just to see how it turns out.

The view from my industrial home, in the heart of Alice Springs, will not easily be forgotten.
