After finding a local watering hole I am pleased to start the reporting of some birdlife that has been attracted to the area. Here we can see a pied stilt - a bird characterised by very long legs, and a long pointy beak. This particular bird has a few names, particularly as they are spread across Australia and local names do change. In NSW this one would be called a white-headed stilt, and in the NT, it is referred to as a pied stilt. Today I was able to get very close with a good lens. I was able to capture both the amazing qualities of their feathers and also their red-eye: Which in itself is very extraordinary.
