Crested Pigions

Today I came across a colony of crested pigeons. By all means, these are a fairly common bird right across Australia. However, these birds have been living wild in the central desert, and are considerably larger than the ones found in cities across the eastern seaboard. The colour on their wings is also stronger with iridescent reds, blues, and greens. Alike they also sport a purple and pink tinge across their breast. Although quite common they are at least here in the desert and alive. There is not much else that was even seen today. It is a very barren place.

I see pigeons in the wild for the first time in my life. There're lots of urban pigeons here, too, and they look quite alike these in the photos. But the crests.
