Today's photograph is only one of the thousands that did not make the cut. From about 6am, until at least 7pm I was out in the wetlands looking for eagles. On the cusp of darkness and crocodile time, it was time to set up camp well away from the water.
From photographing the desert wedgetails, I learnt a lot about how to compose images of large birds in flight. Also how to get the photograph shape and in the correct colours. It is incredibly difficult to balance blue, white, and light brown. But I hope the picture below does it good representative justice.
