Burning Mountain Landscape

Today a range of complexity in the local climate opened up a unique opportunity this morning. Overnight a bushfire was close by and it made bushwalking and camping in the local area risky. Eucalyptus forests in summer often are very dry and eucalyptus oil is actually flammable. Once a bushfire starts it can escalate quickly. However, the smoky background in the mixed strength of the light made for a very unique landscape photograph against the charred earth on top of Black Mountain.
