Lorikeets - Psittaculidae loriinae

Possibly one of Australias brightest and loudest birds. Today's photograph is of two lorikeets resting and preening each other in a gum-tree.

These birds live on a diet of pure sugar, and rejoice in loud calls and energetic activities around NSW. Their bright colours certainly reflect their personalities and they are slowly becoming a favourite pet as well. Known to seek affection and are very loyal, when they are not screaming and rampaging through the house.

Revealed in bright colours and fine details today, the photograph turned out well.
