Eastern Grassland Owls, are known for their long legs that enable them to live predominantly on the ground and also navigate the Boggs and marshlands within forests along the eastern coast of Australia.
Today's photograph captures, a very tired owl beneath a tree fern. Clearly tired from a big night out hunting rodents around the area. The camera in the low light captured the colours and the detail of the feathers. Already this one can be tipped as a favourite photograph with the current popularity of owls on the internet.
This photograph is proof, that you may never know what you will find when you are walking around the bushlands and forests in NSW.
